El Timon Tasting

The series took a decidedly elegant and opulent turn as the sun came down on San Juan del Sur’s premier seafood restaurant.  El Timon went all out for this tasting serving 6 spectacular dishes with a wide variety of flavors including Octopus, Plantain baskets with vegetable ragout, shrimp Parmesan, steak in English onion sauce and more.  All beautifully presented and generously served. The wines ranged from Sendero Sauvignon Blanc to a wonderfull B&G Cotes du Rhone that everyone loved.

The evenings pairings were:

  1. Chicken Flamenquillo in Rioja Sauce with Barton & Gustier Cotes du Rhone
  2. Octopus in Rum Perfume with Barerfoot Pinot Grigio
  3.  Steak with English Onion Sauce with Frontera merlot
  4. Fish Fillet with Shrimp Sauce with Sendero Sauvignon Blanc
  5. Shrimp Alfredo with Casillero del Diablo Chardonnay
  6. Platano Basket with Vegetable Ragout
